My Perfect Weekend: A Solo Getaway to a Quiet Town in Late Autumn

What’s the ultimate weekend joy?

For me, it’s not sleeping in at home or fighting crowds at hot spots—it’s driving to an unknown small town for two quiet days. Especially in late autumn, this short solo trip calms my mind and wipes away a week’s tiredness.

I leave Saturday morning and arrive by noon. The hotel I booked online, No need for luxury, just clean and cozy. Drop my luggage, freshen up to wash off the road dust—and finally, I relax. As dusk falls, I take a taxi to a local BBQ spot with great reviews. Outdoor seating, a quiet corner, a few signature skewers, and bottles of local beer. Crisp wheat aroma in every sip, chewy goodness in every bite. A breeze blows, and tiredness melts away. Simple, but so comforting. After eating, I put on headphones with light music and wander the streets. No rush, no compromises. I stare at strange roads, pass lit-up shops, and gaze at distant house lights. A mix of freedom and soft autumn nostalgia lingers—but it feels nice. Tired? Step into a café, order my go-to drink, and watch traffic through the window. Pure peace. Back at the hotel, scroll my phone till sleep hits—no alarms, no schedules.

Sunday mornings are slow. I head to the hotel buffet, pick my favorites slowly (no rushing!). Then I drive or bike to explore: soak in the scenery, chat casually with locals like old friends. Lunch at a farm-style eatery—rare in big cities. The local dishes aren’t “amazing,” but they taste like home, steady and warm.

Time to leave. I walk to the parking lot, glance back at the town—saying goodbye to this quiet interlude. Close my eyes, replay the trip. Suddenly, last week’s worries feel tiny, trivial.

At this moment, you might feel like jotting down some of your feelings.

I love lively trips with family too—watching kids explore fills me up. But when stress piles high? I need this: a place where no one knows me, no small talk, no “shoulds.” Just me, and the quiet.

This isn’t escape. It’s recharging. Back to daily chaos? Sure. But now, I’m ready.
